Greens are one of the most important items in the game. They are powerups that, when picked up, will upgrade your ship or give you special items. In most zones you don't stand a chance against greened up enemy ships if you don't green yourself. Your ship won't have enough energy to sustain a duel with an enemy. Greens are shared powerups, which means that whenever you pick one up, all other players on your team also get the upgrade. In true team fashion, each player benefits when they or another teammate picks up a power-up. This way, weak beginner ships are armed very quickly.

Greens are scattered all over the zone. To pick them up, simply fly over one. You will hear a sound, and the game will tell you what type of green you just picked up. There are several types of greens. Most of them are upgrades that benefit your ship, but there are also downgrades that can take away one upgrade of any type. They are all listed below.

The various available upgrades

  • Rotation speed
  • Thrusters
  • Top speed
  • Charge rate
  • Max energy level
  • Bombs
  • Guns
  • Shrapnel
  • Full charge
  • These are upgrades that affect the performance of your ship, and the strength of your basic weaponry. You can't lose any of these upgrades unless your ship takes alot of damage. This is what it all comes down to when you're all out of special items, so be sure to use the ?status command once in a while to check if you need to pick up some more greens.

The shrapnel upgrade adds one extra shard of shrapnel to your bombs/mines, and the full charge green restores your energy level to 100%.

  • Burst
  • Repel
  • Decoy
  • Thor's hammer
  • Brick
  • Rocket
  • Portal
  • These upgrades are single shot items. You can only use them once, and then they're gone. You can carry only a limited amount of them at a time ; greening for more won't work, because the items will simply be lost.
Use these items sparingly, because they can give you a free kill or save your skin very often if you use them right. However, if you are sure that you're going to die, then just fire away all you have. With a bit of luck, you might just take someone with you.

  • Stealth
  • Cloak
  • Xradar
  • Antiwarp
  • These items are special devices that drain energy when used. They will work as long as you keep feeding the energy. This will lower your ship's recharge rate however, so don't forget to turn them off when you're in a tight situation.

  • Superpower
  • Shields
  • Xradar
  • Engine Shutdown
  • Engine Shutdown severe
  • Multiprize
  • Warp
  • These items are special devices that drain energy when used. They will work as long as you keep feeding the energy. This will lower your ship's recharge rate however, so don't forget to turn them off when you're in a tight situation.

    Greening for your team
Whenever you pick up a green, your teammates will also receive that upgrade, and whenever they pick one up, you will get it too. This means that you will power up very fast when you start in a new ship, since you will have an entire team picking up greens for you. If you want your team to pick up some more greens because you're still weak - just tell them. You should also try to pick up greens that you can pick up without altering your course too much. Even if you don't need to green, there will always be teammates that could use an extra green.
