| Flags are items that add a huge element of teamwork to SubSpace.
Teams battle for control of all the flags in WarZone games.
People defend their own territory in the Turf zone, and two large
teams battle for control of the single flag in the castle of Trench Wars. The yellow orb above is a team-owned flag. These flags are already owned by your team. You can't pick these up anymore. The next flag is an enemy or neutral flag. Pick them up whenever you see them, and bring them to your base. When you pick one up, a timer will appear in the top right corner. Your name will become red, and you will appear as a red dot on other people's radar. Now they know that you have a flag, so you'd better run to your home base for protection. When the timer runs out, the flags will drop at your current position. It's impossible to defend them well enough in open space, so make sure that you drop them inside your base. Hiding a flag in the open in a WarZone game can be very useful sometimes. If you hide it in a base, then the enemy will surely find it soon, since the bases are the first places where they will start looking. Hiding a flag will buy you some time to attack their base. The enemy has to send out more ships to find your flag in time, leaving fewer defenders at their base. Take their base before they find your flag, because if they do, every enemy will attach to defend the flags. In some zones, your ship will become extremely powerful when you pick up a flag. You can get a permanent shield for as long as you are carrying the flag, as well as a weapon-upgrade that makes all your guns and bombs one level stronger (you can even get Level four bombs and bullets with this!). You can get a bunch of easy kills with flags, especially when people are hunting you down. They tend to shoot alot more, and keep shooting when they normally would back off to recharge. Combine this with your Level four mines, and you'll see that they will blow up in large numbers. |
