Powerball is a very old zone in SubSpace. Created by VIE staff a long time ago, this zone is one every player should have been at least once. The field consists of two goals (left and right side), and a spawning area. There are two teams ; one uses the Warbird, and the other uses the Javelin. As you probably already guessed, the powerball is the main objective in this zone. Shoot it in the opponent's goal, and warp back to the center to do it again. You can only hold the ball for a short time, so make sure you have a teammate around you can pass the ball to.

The settings are comparable to SVS settings. Attaching is not possible until you reach an abnormal high bounty, and special items like bursts and bricks are extremely rare. Besides, the Javelin and the Warbird have exact specifications. This way, it doesn't matter which ship you are in ; the ultimate balance between teams. You don't earn any points in this zone. The only thing that is recorded is your win:loss ratio. If you are good, you will have a good ratio, and you will (usually) be a valuable addition to a team.

All of this makes the Powerball zone a zone requiring heaps of teamwork. People defending the goal shouldn't leave before they tell their team. Sometimes you will have to go for a suicide run into a minefield to allow your team to pass safely. Only downside of the zone : It's really tough to get the hang of it.
